Ladies and Gentlemen, I fear that the time has come where the spirit is tired and I just don't care to try to force myself any more. The game is over, and I realize that it should have been over long ago. I wish that I could have realized this sooner, but I had a realization last night of how much I don't like this city and don't feel it as calling like I used to. I may start something else, or I may just leave. I don't know. I wish you all the best. If I start something new, perhaps some of you may come check it out. If not, I understand. I appreciate the kind words given, and understand the criticism levelled at me. I have heard some of the rumors that have spread regarding my decision and they are all laughably wrong. Yet, sadly, those same people are the reason why I am leaving the community.
The general feedback that I was receiving from players made me realize that I had a critical lack of time to put into just maintaining site, but the nature and tone of the feedback diminished the incentive to devote more time that I didn't have to the necessary labors. Maintaining WantonWicked stopped being even remotely enjoyable, let alone fun. While there are a good many people that I like in the community and would enjoy continuing to play and hang out with them, but the players who don't fall into that category made the site more of a job than my paying job. That's a serious problem, and I chose to address it by ending support for the site.
When I start my next new project, it will be with an eye towards it being something that is significantly more streamlined and that can be managed more easily. I have enjoyed my time, and miss not having a place that I can reflexively go to to talk to people about a variety of tasks. I do not miss those that work to make my and the former staff's life much harder than it should be for what is supposed to be a fun, recreational game for us all.
